The Dumbest Thing Trump Ever Said

With so many options available, it was difficult to narrow the field to just one. I am not AFOT (A Fan of Trump) for obvious reasons. He is rude, crude and socially unacceptable. He needs someone to confiscate his phone and have VP Pence be the spokesman for the administration. A “friend” sent me a T-shirt that says, “You know that thing in your head that keeps you from saying things you shouldn’t? Yeah, I don’t have one of those.”I’m thinking of sending one of them to President.

Let me put this politely in an understatement; Trump doesn’t behave like we are accustomed to Presidents behaving and talking. On the other hand, Obama is decent looking, has a nice smile, (I’m not sure Trump knows how to smile.) dresses nicely, is an excellent speaker, and is charming. The only similarity they seem to share is they are both liars. Obama’s constant declarations that we could keep our doctors, keep our health plans and save money, in our experience, could not have been further from the truth. Trump’s favorite form of lying is by misquoting statistics and numbers. This is done in the context of the age-old truth that “93% of all percentages are made up”. The other difference between Obama and Trump is that Trump is an effective President. Before you Kool-Aid drinking, “I Hate Trumper’s,” start blowing a gasket and start sending me hate mail, look up the records. Obama was charming and adorable but unproductive.

In his campaign and during his Presidency, Trump has made an uncountable number of ridicules statements. I hate to admit it, but I find him entertaining. Really he is hilarious. I guess I do because I own one of those T-shirts and I think almost everything is funny. This is difficult to do in a culture where NOTHING is funny and we have see-through skin that causes us to be EASILY offended. Come on folks, we need to get over it and ourselves. We need to grow up.

Several years ago I read a book titled, Where Have All the Adults Gone? I don’t where they have gone, but I did watch them go. The immaturity of America began with my generation. We threw temper-tantrums when we failed to get our way, we whined about everything and thought we should get/buy anything we desired and thought there was no doubt we were smarter than all who came before us.  Our children took it to the next level: trophies for all participants; nobody loses; you can do as you please and your parents will take absorb the consequences; you ask for it, you get it, free of charge (No work required.). It is no wonder we have entitled, angry, confused, thoughtless, shallow-thinkers, out of touch with history and thusly ignorant of the lessons of history, and taking themselves much too seriously.

Trump is the winner of goofiness, but all of the party leaders make me chuckle. They make outrageous, contradictory statements. Nobody seems to understand that they are being videoed almost all the time they are speaking. For example, go back and view some videos of the Democrats opinion on building a barrier on the border between the US and Mexico during the Obama administration.

So, my nomination for the “Dumbest Thing Trump Ever Said” award is ... wait for it ... “We are going to drain the swamp.”

Why you may ask, was this the dumbest thing he ever said? Simply, in any battle, you don’t tell your enemy what you plan to do. At first, nobody in the swamp thought he would be elected. When he did, after it soaked in, they simultaneously wet their pants and became absolutely furious. The inhabitants of the swamp went nuts and have yet to calm down. So the main political action for the past 2 + years has been, get rid of Trump. Entertaining to watch, but not helpful for average American.

Who, exactly, are those living in the swamp. Well, just look at the swamp. house of Representatives (Both parties.), the Senate (Both parties.) the lobbyists, long term government employees, and much of the press. Trump went to Washington with almost everyone there hating his guts. Now there’s a real formula for success. Even his own party hates him. Welcome to Washington Mr. President. It’s your own fault because you can’t keep your mouth shut.
